La segunda temporada de El Juego del Calamar ha conseguido 126 millones de visualizaciones en menos de dos semanas desde su estreno en Netflix. Este impresionante logro la coloca como la cuarta producción más vista en la plataforma, solo superada por la cuarta temporada de Stranger Things (140,7 millones de visitas), Merlina (252,1 millones de visualizaciones) y la primera temporada de la misma serie, que alcanzó 265,2 millones de vistas (vía The Wrap).
La trama de esta temporada continúa con el relato de personas con graves dificultades económicas que son invitadas a participar en un concurso basado en juegos infantiles. El ganador recibe una fortuna millonaria, pero el perdedor paga con su vida, convirtiendo la competencia en un juego de vida o muerte.
