El actor dió algunas precisiones sobre la esperada secuela. No será parte de la línea de tiempo planteada por James Gunn donde está la nueva Superman que se estrenará este año.
Pattinson regresará como Bruce Wayne, la cual está fechada para ser estrenada en Estados Unidos en cines en el 2027. Matt Reeves volverá a sentarse en la silla del director, tal y como ocurrió con la primera parte.
En diálogo con el sitio especializado Deadline, compartió algunos aspectos sobre la película venidera. “No la hemos filmado aún”, remarcó el intérprete. Sin embargo sostiene que la producción comenzará a llevarse a cabo al final de este año.
Consultado por aspectos relacionados con la trama, se negó a dar precisiones pero dijo “Está muy buena”. De momento la historia permanece bajo cuatro llaves, pero Reeves indicó que la serie El Pingüino (ahora disponible en Max) es una puerta de entrada para la nueva película. Andy Serkis, quien interpretó a Alfred Pennyworth en la primera película añadió que Reeves si le contó como será el argumento y que está muy entusiasmado por ello.
The Batman fue estrenada a nivel mundial en marzo del 2022. Se trata del primer episodio de un universo llamado “The Batman Epic Crime Saga” (La Saga Criminal y Épica de Batman), la cual es distinta a la que vienen trazando James Gunn y Peter Safran, ambos responsables del universo de DC en el cine, que comenzó con Creature´s Commandos en el streaming y seguirá con una nueva entrega sobre el Hombre de Acero que llegará a las salas este año.
